What aspect of your workday do you enjoy the most?

Working directly with clients. I am a very talkative person, so it is hard for me to sit alone all day. What I do allows me to meet frequently with people, learn about their business and how I can help them. Each of the companies we are honored to partner with has a great mission and background. I learn something new every day!

What is one thing you want potential customers to know about you?

My goal is to help my partners for the long term and support them in any way possible. From the beginning to the end of each project, I will be communicating with you frequently to make sure everything is just as you envisioned it. Ensuring signs are working for you long-term is key too and why I will periodically check-in to make sure everything is going well.

What is your favorite project you have completed and what made it special?

UIHC Stead Family Children's Hospital. This project was a challenge, but it was meaningful work. We collaborated to deliver a full sign package for their new facility during a rebrand. This project included exterior branding, interior and exterior wayfinding signage, and interior and exterior donor signage. This diverse project had many different aspects, but everyone worked together to create a unique and purposeful sign package.

What have you learned that has helped you the most doing your job?

Learning how to get the relevant information early in the process makes things go smoother for my clients. Beating around the bush wastes time and I’ve learned the right questions to ask when starting a project. This will ensure nothing is missed and that everyone is on the same page throughout the entire process.

What part of each project gives you the most joy?

Seeing the finished product! Especially the joy it can bring to a community, like the Kinnick Stadium project and The Chauncey, both in Iowa City, IA. It’s a long haul, projects can take 1-4 years sometimes, so it’s very rewarding to see the sign installed and landscaped, just as the customer envisioned. Although the process may seem intense, it is all worth it when what once was an idea is now a finished sign package.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Watching my kid's activities and golfing. I love to coach my son and daughter’s sports teams. This helps me channel my love for sports, competitive drive, and talkative personality all in one!
